A spectrogram, not a level meter

Ordinary music visualisers show energy in a handful of frequency bands right now. This shows the full spectrum with its history rolling across the frame, so patterns become legible as shapes: a rising sweep really does slope upward, a chord shows as parallel harmonic stacks, and a bird call keeps its distinctive fingerprint frame after frame. That makes it genuinely informative rather than decorative — which is why it is common in analysis videos and rare in music promos.

Colour mapping and scroll speed

The colour map decides which detail you can see. High-contrast maps make faint content pop out of the background, which is what you want for spotting a quiet call under noise; smoother maps look better but hide the quietest material. Scroll speed sets how much history is on screen: slow scrolling shows long-term structure such as the shape of a whole phrase, fast scrolling gives fine detail on transients. Choose based on what you want the viewer to notice, and preview before committing to a long render.
