Two videos in one frame is the format of reaction clips, commentary, tutorials and any recording where a webcam has to sit over a screen capture. This tool places one video over another, lets you drag and size the inset in a live preview, offset the clips in time if they were not started together, and mix the two soundtracks before exporting one file.
A webcam inset generally wants to sit in a corner at somewhere between 20% and 30% of the frame width — big enough to read a face, small enough not to bury the content underneath. Which corner matters: check what is actually happening in the main video first, since a taskbar, a code panel or a chart can be exactly what the inset covers. On vertical video the safest position is usually the top, because platform interface elements crowd the bottom of the screen.
Webcam and screen capture almost never start at the same instant, and a commentary track recorded afterwards starts nowhere near the source. Offsetting one clip against the other in the timeline fixes that, and the fastest way to find the offset is a shared event — a clap, a click, a moment where the person on camera reacts to something on screen. Get that single point aligned and preview the join; if the two drift apart over a long recording, the cause is a frame rate mismatch rather than a bad offset.
Both clips carry audio, and playing them at equal volume usually produces a mess. Decide which is the primary voice — normally the webcam — and pull the other down until it supports rather than competes, often 12 to 20 dB lower for game or screen audio under speech. If the background audio is music or gameplay that should duck only while someone talks, export the mix and then run it through the ducking tool, which lowers the bed automatically during speech.
