Publishing a video often means hiding something in it: a face that did not consent, a licence plate, a home address on an envelope, an API key left on screen, a bystander’s child. This tool places a blur or pixelation region over any area, lets you move it as the subject moves, and previews it in motion before the obscured version is exported.
The most common failure is a region sized exactly to the thing being hidden, which then slips out from under it during motion or a camera nudge. Make the region generously larger than the target and check the whole clip, not just the frame where you placed it. Faces are the hardest case because people turn, lean and walk; if a subject moves a lot, adjust the region across the clip or split the video and treat the sections separately.
A light blur or a coarse-looking pixelation can leave the underlying content partially recoverable, particularly for text and short strings such as plates and codes, where the set of possible answers is small enough to test. If the point is privacy rather than aesthetics, use a strong setting so the region carries no usable structure at all. And remember that only the exported file is protected — the original, still fully legible, is on your device and in whatever backup it has already reached.
Watch the finished export end to end rather than trusting the preview, at full size and with attention to the moments where the shot changes. Check for the same information appearing elsewhere: a name badge visible in one frame, an address on a second envelope, a reflection in a window or a monitor. Screen recordings deserve particular care, because notifications, browser tabs, autofill dropdowns and bookmark bars all leak details that have nothing to do with what you were demonstrating.
